On To Uganda

Yesterday we finished our time of reaching students in Kenya. Now our team will travel to Uganda tomorrow morning. We finished our week at a Maasai school of 120 students and saw 10 come to Christ. Jedidah, one of the Kenyan Student Venture staff, was with us at this school since her father is the headmaster at the school and he came to Christ with me. Afterwards he told his daughter. See their picture on my Facebook page. Overall our team shared Christ with almost 2500 and saw almost 200 decisions for Christ at the five schools we were at. Now it is onto Uganda! Keep praying!

On The Road In Kenya

Today we traveled two hours east of Nairobi to a school just one hour from the Tanzanian border and in sight of Mt. Kilimanjaro (if it had been a clear day that is). We shared Christ with over 1000 students and 101 indicated they came to Christ. I also had the opportunity to lead a teacher to Christ at this school. I haven't been able to get my pictures to upload here nor my videos. However I have been able to put them on my Facebook page so check out my pictures and videos there.

Reaching students in Kenya

Our team has shared Christ with 480 students in two schools. We have seen 38 students receive Christ. Pray for the health of our team as Meredith is sick today (Wednesday, June 27th)and is staying back at the hotel. Also, Adam is sick and after arriving at the Life Ministry office with him I had to send him back to the hotel to rest.

Beginning Assemblies in Nairobi High Schools

On Monday June 25th we will be starting our mission to the high schools here in Nairobi.  We will do this here all week and this next weekend travel to Kampala, Uganda to do the same thing.  Pray for our team as we start working with students.  We trained with the Kenyan students this afternoon after church.  Everyone is tired but beginning to get over the worst of jet lag.

We have received all our luggage except for one bag which should be here in the morning (Monday).

Thanks for those of you who have recently sent into our Campus Crusade for Christ account (link is on the column to the right down the page about three quarters of the way) as I'm still needing to raise a bit more for this mission (still need about $3,000 so pray that comes in before I return home).

Everyone is getting along great on the project and they are getting to know the Kenyan student leaders and staff here.  We just had dinner (Sunday night) at Fred Abok's apartment here in Nairobi.  There was standing room only as all of our team of 33 and the Kenyan Student Venture staff came to eat together.

It is raining now so pray it stops for tomorrow!  Thanks.

The Journey Begins

Today high school students, Cedarville students, Student Venture staff, and other adults are flying into Chicago for our Africa Briefing.  Pray for the nearly 40 of us and those we are leaving here as we are in Africa for the next month.  We will be overnight in Chicago then at 6 pm on Thursday, June 21 we begin our first leg of two eight hour flights to Nairobi, Kenya where we will be for our first week.  Pray for us to connect as a team!  This will be the adventure of a lifetime.

Leaving for Africa in Ten Days

It is hard to believe that in only 10 days our team will be beginning the journey to Africa for one whole month! There are still a number of things to trust God for and so pray for these items: 1) That we will come together as a team - we have students coming from California to Florida! 2) That everyone will see God raise all they need for this project - at this time some are only half way there including me. 3) That God will bring students and adults to Himself - pray John 6:44. 4) Pray for the health and safety of our team. It will be 10 years since I was last in Africa and so I have included here a video of a student who was 19 back then and still attending high school. He tells the story of what happened at his school the day we came there. Enjoy the video and please pray, pray, pray!
